Description: As fans of this series will know, THE ASSASSIN AND THE EMPIRE is the fourth and final novella before the release of THRONE OF GLASS. This novella is by far my favorite of the four however, it is a heartbreaking and depressing read. I knew these novellas weren't going to have a happy ending, but I didn't think that it could be quite this bad. It's a huge departure from the lighthearted tone of THE ASSASSIN AND THE PIRATE LORD, and although it's much darker and heavier than any of the previous novellas, in my mind that makes it all the more powerful.
