The Lovegroves burst onto the wedding scene back in 2000 with a 'shoot from the hip' approach - often with the camera in one hand and a flashgun in the other. "Whilst shooting news all over the country for the BBC in the early 90's, I'd worked alongside some of the finest Fleet Street photographers" Damien declares, "and if they could shoot that way then so could we." It wasn't conventional practice at a wedding but it worked very well indeed. Lovegrove Weddings took just two years to get to the top. "This created a bit of a storm at the time" recalls Damien. Despite their maverick image in the early days the Lovegrove approach remains strict and professional.

The Big Day
The two documentary crews employed in this production were in the right place at the right time to ensure you miss nothing of the wedding day. It really is like you are there watching Damien and Julie do their thing. The emphasis is on the photography as you would expect, and you get to see the photography process from the initial concept, via the setting up, to the taking of the pictures. You will see how the Lovegroves handle last minute changes and how they diffuse stress. You will see them work with children and animals, set up group pictures and generally interact with the guests at the wedding. You will get to see the level of client direction and the set up process that is needed to create wedding pictures in the Lovegrove style.

Lighting Winter Weddings
Damien and Julie will show you how to light and shoot a variety of pictures from the initial preparations at the start of the day right through to pictures at dusk. You will learn the formula exposure settings that they use in dark situations and you will learn how to master the use of artificial lights.
