Viking #1-2 (Ongoing)

Viking is a creator-owned comic book series published by Image Comics. It is written by its creator, Ivan Brandon, with artistic work by Nic Klein. The general theme of the series seems to be a look at the day-to-day dealings of Vikings through the lens of a crime syndicate viewing, a treatment markedly different from that taken by the other ongoing comic book series about Vikings, Brian Wood's Northlanders, issue #18 of which was also released on June 24, 2009 (I have likewise posted the complete ongoing series thereof here). The men involved in Viking have strong family ties, there is a clearly defined flow of illicit goods, and brutality and vendettas are clearly present with an undercurrent of dark humor. The first issue was sold out before it was released for sale last April 22, 2009.
