The Man with No Name is a stock character in western films, but the term usually applies specifically to the iconic character (or possibly characters) played by American actor Clint Eastwood in what is often called "The Dollars Trilogy" directed by Sergio Leone, as well as later films like High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider. It has spawned countless references, allusions and other forms of homage in popular culture and other media that continues to the present--let's face it: the aura the cognomen elicits have few equals in terms of "cool." For further info, the subject article in Wikipedia is interesting. In the Spring of 2008 Dynamite Entertainment started publishing the ongoing comic book series The Man With No Name, set after the events of the film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and written by Christos Gage. Interestingly, Dynamite refers to the title character as "Blondie," the name Tuco, the Ugly character in said film, calls him with. The first issue was entitled, "The Man with No Name: The Good, The Bad, and The Uglier."
