Description

Despite extensive measures taken by successive governments and the NHS, evidence suggests that people with cancer in the UK receive less specialist care, and experience poorer outcomes than in many other countries. This book sets out a comprehensive framework for the modernization of cancer services in the NHS, covering all the major changes introduced by the government and the health service professions. It describes the current initiatives to improve the services and care of cancer patients and provides an overview of scientific, clinical, managerial and political change in cancer care.
