Mathias Klotz (GG Portfolio)

Description

Mathias Klotz (Santiago de Chile, 1965) sin duda alguna representa a esa juventud que trata de abrirse brecha frente a una casta sudamericana un tanto anquilosada. Su emblematica casa Muller, premio X Bienal Arquitectura de Chile (1995), es una obra singular.
Para Horacio Torrent "La casa Muller es un cuerpo leve aferrado al acantilado, con intenciones minimas de alterarlo; como si pudiera abandonar ese lugar por un momento, su abstracion, como en un perfecto mecanismo de oposicion, restituye la agresividad de la naturaleza. El lugar esperaba una operacion arquitectonica para ponerse en evidencia, para aparecer."

Si, Matias es de los jovenes arquitectos que tratan de abrir brecha frente a la vieja escuela, pero es que no existe aun un claro lenguaje, ese lenguaje propio del que deberiamos manejar los de esta parte del planeta. Creo que todavia existen y muchas, influencias del mercado...

Creo que cualquier entendido, puede observar en este libro como en obras suyas, que la mayoria de sus obras obvian (en su mayoria) ese dialogo con su entorno...Algunas de sus obras son como lo mismo que venimos viendo: aquella larga caja rectangular, alque adoso materiales, colores y texturas...pero que en si en un terreno de dimensiones mas extensas, un cuadrado por ejemplo, este tipo de tipologia queda un tanto ambigua, un tanto fuera de contexto.
