In seinem neuesten Buch hat sich Filmpublizist Georg Seeßlen vorgenommen, die Matrix-Filmtrilogie der Brüder Wachowski zu entschlüsseln. In seiner Kürzestkritik zeigt sich der "als" zeichnende Rezensent nahezu erschlagen von diesem Unternehmen. In elf Kapiteln, auf 350 Seiten, stöhnt er, zeige Seeßlen sämtliche Aspekte und Verzweigungen der Filme, liefere ästhetische, philosophische und technische Hintergründe und diskutiert schließlich auch noch die biblischen, gnostischen und buddhistischen Dimensionen des Ganzen. "als" ist der "erfrischend saloppen" Darstellung nicht ungern gefolgt, glaubte aber auch zuweilen das Kompendium in seiner eigenen Bildsimulation verschwimmen zu sehen.
