As with other Patricia Cornwall Novels, this one revolves around the exploits of Dr. Kay Scarpetta (I will refer to as Kay as I write this), Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond, as well as some other constant characters who I mention below.
Now I enjoy Patricia Cornwall books, and this one is a follow on to another of her previous novels, From Potters Field, which I had thoroughly enjoyed, so I really did look forward to reading this one.
I wasn�t completely let down, but I was more disappointed that I expected to be. A number of reasons contributed to this (which I will talk about in a minute), so I will say this is a satisfactory story from the Patricia Cornwall Stable, but not one her best - at least for me personally.
